Today’s card and odd suggestion…

Not too long ago, I spotted a card on facebook created by Mr. Sid Haselden. I admired the corner die he used as it set his card off so beautifully. With his help I went on line and found exactly what I wanted. It arrived along with three other corner dies in that set. Funny how just finding something unique can get us so excited. Anyway, I wanted to use the die for a special young woman’s birthday card.

As most of you know, I love the pearlescent papers and decided to use a golden white for the top layer and card base. Since I was making a pink flower, I selected a dark pink pearl for the underlayer.

Wanting the top layer to have a nice margin around the cutout design, I carefully applied the die to my card front and using post-it tape, secured the die in place.

Beautiful cut! So excited but … the tape left a slightly visible impression. Well, after a few minutes of careful thought, I tried again. This time I decided to tape the back of the die to a thin piece of scrap paper. Then, after a lot of measuring, I laid out the cardstock so the die would line up the way I wanted. Well, you can see the results.

Hope this odd suggestion helps.

Till next time…God Bless you and yours.

P.S. I did a stamen! Wow. Not so difficult! Next to hopefully get the stems.
