Getting into the Spirit…

Are you like me? For some reason the years seem to fly by. Last year, I was determined that by todays date, our Christmas cards would be ready to send.  However, exactly like last year, I am just now starting to create. Even though it has been a busy year, I really have no excuse. To be honest, I should take a lesson from a friend of mine who decided years ago, that on the 25th of each month, she would produce a certain number of Christmas cards. She is really pretty good at keeping her goal. Such determination!

Today’s card is one that will be on its way very shortly. However, I did want to show you the different dies and unique papers that I used.

The corner die in the upper left is from China and a real joy to use. It is part of a 4-piece set. The Poinsettia die is from the Rosy Owl collection. (You can see how I store my dies on these magnetic sheets from Crafters Companion. My die collection seems to have grown a great deal this year.) The whitish paper is a Golden Pearl cardstock, one of my favorite from this collection. The green is an imported, very stiff fibrous paper that I get through USArtQuest. I used it for the colored layer and the leaves. That is also where I order my Prills.
The Merry Christmas stamp is from Whimsy Stamps out of Florida. They have such a nice collection of adorable stamps. Great for the “young at heart.”

The Poinsettia was created using a soft Pink Foamiran which I ordered from Ireland. Since then, I have learned that Whimsy Stamps in Florida carries the full line of Foamiran products. I like ordering from both locations as the service is usually very quick.  I accented the petals with Memento’s Rhubarb Stalk. I love how it blended.

Well, it is time to get going. My cards are waiting to be created and so are several other Christmas projects.

I hope that you will enjoy these last few weeks of preperation  - enjoy your crafting, shopping, baking, and decorating.

Christmas is about our love towards others as well as our love and faith in Jesus.

God Bless You and Yours.
