On a hillside in Virginia, fifty years ago this month, a handsome young man asked me to grow old with him. We had only been dating for two weeks but time really is not the import factor when it comes to love. After saying “yes,” I asked what took him so long.
This September, we will celebrate our Golden Anniversary. To be honest, it does not seem as long as the words say – 50 years. I still feel like it was only a few days ago instead of half a century. I cannot image my life without Jim nor our two wonderful daughters. I feel God has blessed us more than our share.
In honor of our special upcoming event, we are designing our celebration invitations together. We wanted them to express our appreciation for the beauty we see from within the trees. When Jim creates his furniture, we know the exquisite grains and blended colors are part of God’s artwork.
The dies we selected are from Tattered Lace (Enchanting Couple) purchased online through Hobby Craft and Memory Box (Medium Forest Archway) purchased online through Blue Moon Scrapbooking .
If you have read any of my blogs, you know that I love quality papers. About a year ago, I had a chance to try a special paper with a delicate texture. While thinking of this project, it was that paper which came to mind. We selected Elizabeth Craft Designs, Soft Touch-White for the base card and the couple, then Soft Touch-Rust for the trees. Those are mounted on Cordenons’s Antique Gold.
Needless to say, I will be extremely busy in my card room all this summer with this and 2 other large projects. I hope you can take time from the summer outdoor fun to create beautiful and exciting paper projects.
Thank you for stopping by my corner today and I hope you will do so again.
May God watch over you and yours.
Note: The Archway itself will work perfectly with the normal A2 card si. However, we wanted a slightly larger card so we designed it to fit an A7 envelope.
