God’s Special Art

“Butterflies are like angels kisses sent from heaven.”

Malia Kirk

Thank you for looking in today as I celebrate the fact that Spring has finally reached our area of Michigan.  I noticed the greenish hints on our lilac bushes and the willows trees.

To mark this annual birth of the season, I decided to have some fun with this fantastically beautiful Swallowtail Butterfly from Stampin’ Up. The design offers such great detail that it will lend itself to most any type of finish. For this, I used Memento’s Tuxedo Black to stamp the image on Gina K’s Pure White Luxury cardstock. I then stamped a sentiment also from Stampin’ Up, their Trust God collection. To really make the detail pop, heat-set the inked areas with a fine black embossing powder.

The Butterfly: As you may be aware, I really love the painted effects that the Chameleon Pens offer. This time however, I did not infuse the colors applying all 7colors full strength. The colors used are:

·         VO2 – MAUVE
·         YL2 – SUMMER YELLOW
·         YO3 – WARM SUNSET
·         VO4 – DEEP VIOLET
·         YO2 – MELLOW YELLOW
·         NU4 – CARAMEL
·         YG3 – SPRING MEADOW

Mounting the cover design is just a matter of your own preference. I used the Neeham Stardream Punch and Ruby cardstock. This would also look great layered with a bright yellow and a deep black cardstock.

Please stop by again,
Till then,
May God Bless you and Yours Always

  1. Love the coloring on your butterfly; is this what we might do in a couple of weeks?
